Our objective is to impart an up-to-date and well-structured knowledge base in the multifaceted and sophisticated domain of electric actuation technology. The development of actuation technology is being driven by ever more powerful tools and methods. Moreover, for many years the substantial progress in power electronics, microprocessor technology and communication technology is an important stimulus.

Furthermore, growing environmental consciousness requires ever increasing efficiency, thereby pushing efforts in the research and development of enhanced drive systems.

Actuation technology lectures and tutorials impart the knowledge that is necessary to enable the students to investigate new topics independently. Accompanying lab courses impart practical talents and experiences. The seminar and mechatronics project as well as the bachelor, master and doctoral theses deepen the students´ scientific knowledge with long-lasting benefit.
